Duties and Responsibilities:
The Project Manager will be responsible for a wide variety of activities related to coordinating UNDP’s knowledge generation and dissemination efforts in various fields of interest to early recovery and resilience programming in Syria. He/she will:
-Lead efforts to develop a strategic research agenda on early recovery and resilience for UNDP Syria in consultation with UNDP management, programmes, area offices and partners:
-Regularly convene and facilitate a Strategic Research Task Force that brings together key actors within UNDP and across partners to determine the Project’s research and analysis priorities and products.
Undertake frequent consultations with stakeholders beyond the Strategic Research Task Force to inform the Project’s research and analysis priorities and products.
-Generate proposals and recommendations for the Early Recovery Advisor and UNDP management on the Project’s research and analysis priorities and products.
-Ensure the generation of high quality, strategic knowledge products that help better design and target context- and gender-sensitive early recovery interventions in Syria:
Support UNDP programmes, projects, area offices and partners in designing sound research and analysis products, including the design of data generation and collection processes.

-Ability to use methods, tools and regional analysis to determine impact of various elements for crisis and post crisis situations.
Experience:
- At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience at the national or international level in a research-oriented role in an NGO, academia, journalism or an international organization is required; experience conducting social or economic research is required; expertise in social science research methodologies will be an advantage.
- Advanced use of Microsoft Office and experience in handling web-based information management systems is required
- Experience working in a multi-national setting with people from different cultural backgrounds is an advantage.
