GENERAL OBJECTIVE:

The Project focal point is responsible for the implementation of a specific project in der ez zor. The

project includes, social cohesion, wash, livelihood, and education component. The Project Focal point

will work in constant synergie with technical project managers based in Damascus. He will be

responsible for the coordination of the different activities of the project and the coherence of the

integrated approach developped by PUI.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
1- Ensure the implementation and the monitoring of the project under his/her responsibility:
– S/He follow-up activities coordination with the senior projects manager and in collaboration
with project managers based in Damascus.
– S/He closely organizes, schedules, monitors, follows up and coordinates the field team’s work
in Der Ez Zor.
– S/He ensures the timely and quality implementation of the projects.
– S/He shares about the work progress with its manager on a regular basis
– S/he ensure proper implementation of the project and follow up with the MEAL department
and Grants departments to communicate on milestones, targets, risks
– S/He identify potential risks in the implementation and provide analysis
– S/He ensures proper coordination and communication with the different stakeholders (local
authorities, Ministries, other humanitarian actors…) in collaboration with head of access and
development
– S/He monitors the results achievements and indicators as per indicated in the logical framework
– S/he provide regular reporting reports on the project
– S/He ensures that all project(s) documents are correctly filled and filed.

2- Manage the logistical and financial aspects of the project:

– S/He follows up procurements for the project needs in coordination with its manager

– s/he prepares and follows up the procurement plan for her/his project(s).

– S/He ensures that the operational follow up is up-to-date and crosscheck it with the budget

follow up (committed expenses) on regular basis.

– S/He prepares the cash forecast on regular basis in coordination with project managers

3- Represent PUI for the project:

– S/He participates in coordination meetings related to her/his field of work.

– S/He ensures representation of PUI (with her/his team, at field level) among partners, donors

and different authorities for the areas which s/he is responsible for.

– S/He prepares and organizes field visits with donors or local authorities when needed in

coordination with its management

4- Ensure the internal and external reporting of the project:

– S/He provides internal reporting on activities according to PUI internal tools on a monthly basis.

– S/He prepares external reporting according to the needs (reports to local authorities, donors).

 

Qualification:
– Master degree in Business, engineering, social science.
– Minimum 10 years of specialized experience in relevant field.
– Previous experience with INGO or UN agencies.
– Advanced knowledge in Humanitarian standards
– Advanced level in English and Arabic (oral and written)Advanced Project Cycle management skills
– Proficient user of MS office (including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
6) Specific Vacancy Requirements:

– Ability to facilitate/lead meetings/workshop
– Deep understanding of Humanitarian Principles.
