We work in three key areas – education, society and the arts. In Syria, all of our work in these areas supports the themes of collaboration, inclusion and achievement, making a real difference in the lives of the people with whom we work. Our mission is to develop strong and vibrant relationships between individuals and institutions in both the UK and Syria, working to support our shared aspiration for a stable and prosperous future.
Despite closing our Damascus office in 2012, the British Council continues to develop and deliver programmes for the people of Syria and the UK. Through our offices in host countries and long-standing strategic partnerships, we deliver a wide range of projects that target Syrian young people, teachers, artists, and cultural actors wherever they may be.
