BTU Cottbus – Senftenberg offers young Syrian architects, urban planners and researchers
Two Scholarships for a one-month stay in the period from October to December 2022 to conduct research and receive further education in the fields of Rehabilitation of Historic Districts and Heritage Studies at BTU, Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Urban Planning.
During this stay you will participate in relevant courses and carry out your own field study on rehabilitation, revitalization and post-conflict reconstruction of historic buildings and city districts in German cities and compare your case with the challenges in Syrian historic districts. Scholarship-holders should present a lecture on the outcome of their study at the end of their research stay at BTU.
We offer a working place in our faculty, funding from DAAD including one travel allowance (the amount depends on your place of residence, e.g., 775 € to travel from Syria) and one accommodation allowance of 1.200 €. The scholarship could be extended for a maximum period of two more weeks. In addition, your research will be integrated in the closing event of the Project Rehabilitation and Reconstruction of Historic Districts and Preservation of Architectural Heritage after Armed Conflicts.

2) your CV of maximum 2 pages
3) a brief research proposal of maximum 2 pages.
The application document should not exceed five pages in total and should be submitted as one pdf file of maximum 10 mb to the project coordinator, Sepideh Zarrin Ghalam (zarringhalam(at)b-tu.de) until 20th of July 2022.
