Overall Roles:

Under the direct supervision of the Head of Project in the Gaziantep office, the Protection Field Coordinator works closely with stakeholders in the project location. The coordinator ensures accountability by developing functional and effective feedback mechanisms. The project aims to support the internally displaced persons with case management activities in/off camps to ease their access to their protection related needs. The tasks of the coordinator shall be:

 

· Responsible for the day to day follow up and implementation of WHH case management activities in NWS and provision of technical support to the planning, implementation, and reporting in line with the WHHs strategies

 

· Be present in the field on a daily basis to ensure project implementation quality and adherence to agreed standards. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly monitoring visit reports and share key findings to contribute to overall standardization.

Research and propose future modality/interventions for consideration. Field Coordinator is responsible for the quality of technical implementation of case management activities and ensure outputs and outcomes met within the planned resources, timeframe, and stipulated quality standards in the field.

· Provide strong leadership and facilitation and develop the capacity of the teams and deepen understanding of their roles through constant mentorship.

· Assist the team members with information, tools, and resources to improve performance & reach objectives

· Facilitate the development of household-level coaching tools, and conduct training for project staff.

Assess field team capabilities, by recommending and facilitating trainings based on need and project goals

· Coordinating and supervising a team consisting of case workers and assigning tasks to the team.

· Supervises individual case management & special needs fund plans of beneficiaries according to WHH’s guidelines and monitors the follow up work by the case workers.

· Field Coordinator is responsible for offering technical support to project staff, and beneficiaries to achieve set outcomes.

· Liaising with local authorities in the locations of the project activities

· Communicates with service providers to ensure effective and appropriate interventions and follow-up.

Follow up the service mapping and communicates closely with all NGOs/INGOs and local authorities, to ensure beneficiaries are referred to related stake holders based on their individual protection needs and supported in a timely and appropriate manner

· Monitors the referrals to partner organizations and acts as the focal point to receive referrals from partner organizations

· Works closely with the other teams in the project as well as other protection projects in WHH, and with partners to ensure smooth and efficient referral processes across all sections.

· Works closely with the case workers including assigning cases, case discussions, follow-ups on cases, ensure that case plan is implemented successfully and in a timely manner.

· Works closely with other departments of WHH like finance, logistics, security and liaison etc.

· Collaborate with the M&E Teams to develop the monitoring mechanisms to ensure high-quality levels of implementation

· Ensure that internal and external reporting and documentation are accurate and done on time.

Maintains accurate and confidential beneficiary records and keeps track of all necessary figures and data related to protection services under case management and SNF support

 

· Provides regular and accurate reporting on case management & special needs fund activities as required

 

· Ensures qualitative interventions through regular monitoring, review and follow-up

 

· Manages the service monitoring as requested

 

· Respects confidentiality and the rights of the beneficiaries

 

· Being fully informed about community structures and the protection and security situation of the population of concern and develop strong links with a cross-section of members of refugee using an AGD approach.

 

· Through relationships with persons of concern and network of stakeholders abreast of political, social, economic and cultural developments that have an impact on the protection environment and inform the project team in Gaziantep about the protection gaps.

 

· Support in ensuring that the perspectives, capacities, needs and resources of the persons of concerns are reflected in strategies, planning processes and plans addressing the specific protection needs of IDPs and host communities.

 

· Organizing facilities and venues for project implementation by considering COVID-19 risks.

 

· Represent Welthungerhilfe e.V in the field and lead the coordination efforts with local authoritieis, humanitarian partners, and local communities in order to monitor the humanitarian situation and to organize rapid assessments and distributions.

 

· Maintaining and monitoring project plans, project schedules, work hours sheets, and expenditures.

 

· Creating and maintaining comprehensive project documentation, plans, and reports of the activity.

 

· Ensure consistency and coherence in the use of implementation and monitoring tools in collaboration with the project team in Gaziantep.

 

· Solving problems that arise in the field to complete the project implementation on time and report all incidents in the field to the Gaziantep office promptly.

Ensure compliance with security procedures and policies as determined by WHH.

· Proactively ensure that team members operate in a secure environment and are aware of policies.

· Collect the relevant supportive documents regarding the expenses/purchase/payments done in the field

· Work in close collaboration with other members of the team to ensure an integrated approach to meet the other basic needs of the affected population

· Being in daily communication with Gaziantep project team through remote communication channels

· Promote accountability, communicate expectations, and provide constructive feedback informally and formally via regular meetings.

· The Field Coordinator is expected to support all efforts toward accountability, specifically to the beneficiaries and to Welthungerhilfe’s’ Code of Conduct, Conflict of Interest, and Provision of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse. Field Coordinator must ensure all interventions adhere to Welthungerhilfe’s’ Gender Policy, Do No Harm principles, and beneficiary accountability standards.

· Maintain high ethical standards and treat people with respect and dignity.

· Exhibit an awareness of his/her own strengths and development needs

· Ensures the necessary visibility of the interventions on the ground.

· Create and sustain a work environment of mutual respect where team members strive to achieve excellence.

· Undertaking other project tasks as required.

 

Required Qualifications:

· Position open to Syrian nationals only

 

· Education: University degree preferred, in Social Work, Social Science, Political Science, Anthropology, Law or other clearly related disciplines.

 

· Work Experience:

 

· Experience of 5 years in case management, protection, community services, social work, and human rights programs in NWS context in a non-profit organization with 3 years at a similar position ideally.

Skills/knowledge:

 

Field experience in case management activities in NWS context

 

Possesses knowledge and expertise in case management, GBV, child protection, human rights, working with people with disabilities and special needs

 

Knowledge and understanding of Humanitarian Principles and core standards e.g. CPIE Minimum standards, Core Humanitarian Standards, SPHERE and other relevant international standard for humanitarian response

 

Experience in SNF and IPA activities.

 

Understanding of protection programming that takes an empowerment approach including community-led activities and advocacy

 

Experience in leading assessments and conducting focus group discussions

 

Experience in using mobile data collection tools, and/or other smartphone applications

 

Experience with team management and staff supervision

 

Maintains a strong network of connections within local authorities, humanitarian agencies, and local communities.

 

Excellent written and spoken English and Arabic.

 

Skilled in IT, communication, MS Word and Excel

 

Previous experience in emergency response activities

 

Knowledge file management, transcription, and other administrative procedures.

 

Ability to work with minimum or no supervision with the ability to deliver tasks timely.

 

Experience working in insecure and remote locations and reporting to remotely located management

 

Ability to build a network and work in a team under pressure.

 

· Social Skills;

· Language Skills: English and Arabic highly required (written & spoken).
