Beit Bayout

Refugee camps are choke full of untold stories. Those stories reside in the small over-crowded rooms, the tight alleys mazes and the hearts of thousands of women who live with their heavy burdens everyday.
“Beit Bayout” is a play inspired by the lives and journeys of 18 Syrian Refugee Women who reside in various Refugee camps around Beirut. Their stories were skillfully stitched together by Farah Wardani, a Drama Therapist who worked directly with these women for over 3 months to help them discover and utilize theater techniques.
The play is a unique opportunity for the world to get an intimate look at the aftermath of war on women, who are often left to pick up the pieces and try to find a way to rebuild their lives and the lives of those dependant on them.
Intisars Foundation invites you to be a part of this special event that would not be possible without the bravery and hard work of these 18 remarkable women.

Intisars Foundation is a London-based charity foundation that uses Drama Therapy, a theater based psychological discipline, to heal and empower
Arab women affected by war. It was launched by HRH Sheikha Intisar AlSabah in 2018 after she realized there was a large gap in the mental health care provided to women in the wake of the worst refugee crisis the world has witnessed.
Our intensive, organized and methodical approach to provide psychological support to women survivors of war is the first of its kind in the Middle East. Our programs are gentle yet efficient, non-stigmatizing and provide a nurturing and stable experience for women to heal at their own pace.
The foundation works across several cities in Lebanon and Jordan, and is currently undertaking its first steps to fulfill its promise to reach 1 million Arab Women.
